Those of us that tack decidedly to the Right on most issues have most likely felt under continuous assault since the election. The Mainstream Media Fake News, ANTIFA riots, suppression of Conservative ideas and speech on college campuses and unending accusations of racism/sexism/xenophobia/homophobia from Leftist pundits have all left many who voted for Present Trump with a bunker mentality and only served to solidify their support. Even when President Trump does something boneheaded and those on the Right begin gearing up to speak critically about the situation, the Left cranks the outrage up to eleven. This overreaction by the media, Democrats and Hollywood elite in a grand irony does not erode the President’s support from the base as intended, but has the exact opposite effect as many supporters then move to defend the President from the hyperbolic screeching. While many of us disagree with the President on many issues, it is difficult to express those disagreements because the Leftist hysteria always seems one degree worse. When the President makes a mistake, the media in an attempt to capitalize on this then overreaches and finds themselves the victim of the Trumperang Effect.
Allisky’s Fifth Rule – “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.
In an age where we see Mainstream Media deploying Allisky’s fifth rule to bring down the Trump Administration, we finally have a President that understands that the only way to defeat ridicule is to be like an Aikido master and turn the attack back on its source. My premise from March in “Teflon Don Rides Again”, still holds true. Despite unprecedented negative coverage, a yearlong investigation into nothing, imprecise word choices, ill-advised Twitter wars and more leaks than a North Korean submarine; President Trump’s base is going to stick with him if the economy improves and he holds to many of his promises. This loyalty from the base has left many Democrats scratching their heads because they do not understand why the base has not responded in the predictable fashion. They do not understand that the base is loyal to President Trump because as Evan Sayet put it, “He Fights.”
Evan Sayet “The problem is that, through these years, the Left has been the only side fighting this war. While the Left has been taking a knife to anyone who stands in their way, the Right has continued to act with dignity, collegiality and propriety.
With Donald Trump, this all has come to an end. Donald Trump is America’s first wartime president in the Culture War.”
Where Sayet draws upon his inspiration for his comparison in the relationship between President Lincoln and General Grant, I draw my parallel from the Godfather. As Michael begins planning to take on the other families he recognizes that this step brother is not right for what is about to happen and tells him, “You’re not a wartime Consigliere”. McCain, Romney & Bush were never going to be wartime Consiglieres for fighting a culture war. Michelle Obama said “When they go low, we go high” during her convention speech. What should be concerning to all Americans is the Left genuinely believes that their character attacks and identity politics are the high road and that there is a lower road to which they can proceed and therefore many on the Right have embraced President Trump. As we watch increasing egregious actions of Conservative shaming and speech suppression, those of us who still value freedom and liberty need someone who will fight back with every weapon that the Left is willing to use on us. Using the Left’s own tactics against them lacks decorum, it is messy and there is collateral damage, but such is the way of war.
“Tom Hagen is no longer Consigliere. He’s going to be our lawyer in Vegas. That’s no reflection on Tom, it’s just the way I want it. You’re not a wartime Consigliere, Tom. Things could get rough with the move we’re making.”
